Routine for Dark Lips & Lip Tone

Care for dry, dark-looking lips with an occasional sugar scrub, daily balm and Mango Lip Oil for extra slip and shine.

Start here

Dark lips and uneven-looking lip tone can reflect natural pigment, sun exposure, dryness, irritation, smoking or repeated lip licking. Cosmetic care can remove loose flakes, reduce a tight feel and soften the look of a dry, dull surface. It cannot bleach lips or change their natural colour. Start with daily balm, use a scrub only when lips are comfortable, and add Mango Lip Oil when you want more slip and shine.

A practical starting routine

How to use these products

Balm is the everyday step. Scrub is occasional, and lip oil is an optional glossy layer.

Twice weekly

  1. Choose Orange Lip Scrub or Coffee Lip Scrub, massage a small pinch gently, rinse and follow with balm.

Daily

  1. Reapply Sandalwood Lip Balm or Fruit & Spice Lip Balm when the protective layer wears away.
  2. Use Mango Lip Oil alone or over balm when you want a glossy finish.

Skip scrubs on cracked, bleeding, sore or actively irritated lips. The balms are fragranced and the oil contains almond oil, so check the full ingredients if either is a concern. A new colour change or persistent scaly patch deserves professional advice.

Frequently asked questions

Why do lips become darker?

Natural pigment is the most common reason lips differ in colour. Sun, irritation, smoking, lip licking and some products can also affect their appearance. A sudden or persistent change is worth checking instead of trying to scrub the colour away.

How often should I use a lip scrub?

Use Orange Lip Scrub or Coffee Lip Scrub no more than twice a week, and only when the lips are comfortable with a few loose flakes. Light pressure is enough. Scrubbing more often can make dryness and irritation look worse.

Should I use lip balm or lip oil?

Balm leaves a wax-and-butter layer that usually stays longer, while Mango Lip Oil gives more slip and shine. Use balm for everyday protection and oil for a glossy top layer, or choose whichever texture you will reapply consistently.

How should I prepare dry lips for lipstick?

Apply balm first and give it time to soften loose flakes. If the lips are comfortable, use a gentle scrub on a separate day or well before makeup. Blot excess balm or lip oil before lipstick so the colour sits more evenly.
